Welcome to Vote for Jobs New York, a project developed by The Business Council to enable New Yorkers to assess how their representatives in the Legislature voted on issues that impact jobs and the business climate in New York State.

New York's overall job growth has lagged behind the rest of the nation for years — and hundreds of thousands of our citizens, including many of our young people, have had to move elsewhere to find work.

The Business Council, which is the largest statewide business organization in New York, believes that fixing this problem is the most important responsibility confronting state government in Albany. In cooperation with many local chambers of commerce around the state, we developed Vote for Jobs New York to enable New Yorkers to assess how their legislators are addressing that responsibility. The assessment is based on a clear, simple, objective and non-partisan system. We hope it enables you to ensure that your legislators are working for you.
